Son of the late Isaac and Ellen Elliott, of 2 South View, Crawcrook, Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham. Husband of Sarah Annie Elliott, of Southall, Middlesex. Brothers: Isaac, James and John. Sister: Lizzie. Sister in law: Mary.
Notes : Samuel and a brother were formerly playing members of Ryton Rugby Club. Brother Isaac was killed in action whilst serving with the 2nd Bn. Coldstream Guards, June 1944, aged 37 years. Another brother James, who served with the Royal Field Artillery during World War 1 died in September 1918, as a result of wounds received in action, aged 24 years. Another brother John served with the 50th Bn Machine Gun Corps, during World War 1.
