Son of John Stott Wilson and Georgina Wilson, of 20 May Avenue, Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham. Robert's father, John, died on 19th February 1926, aged 53. His mother, Georgina, died 25th February 1941, aged 70. Robert also had a sister, Isabella.
