Family Details:
Son of the late George and Mary Ann Orr (nee Hutchinson) of Crawcrook, Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham. Married with two children. Brothers: Peter, William, John, Nicholas, George, James, and Thomas. Sisters: Ellen, Mary Anne, and Rosie.
Notes : David's brother, Thomas, was killed in action in April, 1915, whilst serving with the 1st/4th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers. David's two brothers in law also lost their lives during World War 1. Robert Walker (of Crawcrook) was killed in action whilst serving with the 1st/9th Durham Light Infantry, 15th September 1915. Joseph Walker (of Clara Vale) died of wounds received in action whilst serving with the Royal Naval Division at Gallipoli, 2nd November 1915. David's nephew, William Walker (formerly of Crawcrook) was killed in action during World War 2.
