Family Details:
Son of Robert and Mary Lish, of 19 Dale Street, Crawcrook, Ryton on Tyne, Co.Durham. Three brothers and three sisters.
Notes : John and his siblings were educated at St Agnes Roman Catholic School and attended St Agnes Parish Church in Crawcrook. The youngest son at the time, James, aged 8 years, died when he drowned in the Wesley Pond, at Westburn, Crawcrook, (situated near to the entrance to the Westburn Estate). John's father, Robert, worked as a miner at Clara Vale Colliery. John had left the Colliery to join the workforce at ICI, Prudhoe, to earn better wages.
