Son of Thomas William and Sarah Alice Harrison, of 5 Parkinson's Cottages, Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham.
Notes : Ernest's father, Thomas, also worked at Addison Colliery, in charge of the screens. Ernest was well known in the district of Ryton as a Physical Culturist. He won several trophies as a keen sportsman in gymnastics. He served sixteen years as an instructor with the Ryton Congregational Church Boy's Brigade. He was also a Sidesman at St. Hilda's Church, Hedgefield.
