Son of John Fenwick Wilkinson and Isabel Wilkinson of Stanhope, Co Durham. Husband of Ellen Wilkinson of 37 Commercial Street, Willington, Co. Durham (formerly of 5 School Houses, Greenside). Two children. John's parents are buried in Ryton Holy Cross Churchyard, Ryton on Tyne, Co Durham.
Notes : John had started working at Emma Colliery on 22nd March 1914. He left to enlist in the colours on 2nd November 1914.
