Family Details:
Younger son of the late William James Weeks and Mary J Weeks of Axwell, Surbiton. William James Weeks was born in Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham, 29th October 1848. He died in Surbiton, 16th June 1912. A brass commemorative plaque dedicated to him is in Ryton Holy Cross Church. His wife, Mary, died on 16th April 1922.
Notes : Educated at St Andrew's School, Eastbourne, Surrey, and Uppingham. He gained his Bachelor of Science degree at Armstrong College, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland. He was badly wounded at Ypres (Ieper), Belgium, in 1915. He returned to the front in March 1916 and was Mentioned in Dispatches in November 1916. Gazetted Captain in the Northumberland Fusiliers, December 1917. Details of Weeks last will and testament were published in the Blaydon Courier, 4th January 1919.
