Family Details:

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Dodds, of 71 Chapel End, Low Row, Stargate, Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham. Husband of Ada Dodds, of 56 Robinson Street, Blaydon on Tyne, Co. Durham. One son, Terry. Brothers: Jack, Bill, John, Lance, and Hedley (who died in infancy). Sisters: Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret, and Frances.

Notes :

Educated at Crookhill and Ryton Thorpe Schools. Thomas's father served with the Gordon Highlanders during World War 1. His best friend at the time was George (Chucky) Heads, also from Stargate, who was killed by a sniper. An uncle, John, served with the Durham Light Infantry during World War 1.
