Two sons.
Brothers: Samuel, and Joseph. Sister: Mary.

Robert's brother, Joseph Walker, died of wounds on 2nd November 1915 whilst serving with the Royal Naval Division at Gallipoli, Turkey. His two brothers in law, Thomas and David Orr, were killed in action in April 1915 and June 1917 respectively whilst serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers.
Robert's son, William, was killed in action on 31st May 1940 during World War 2 whilst serving with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers.
Robert's widow, Mary Ann, remarried a First World War veteran, James Hardy, a former Royal Marine who lost a leg due to enemy action. On return from the war James went back to work on the screens at Clara Vale Colliery.
