Son of Captain Robert Aldridge Maguire, and Elizabeth Constance Maguire, of Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham. Husband of Winifred Ross Maguire, of Glasgow, Scotland. Brothers: Dennis and Brian.
Notes : It is believed that Robert's wife Winifred was pregnant with their child when the fatal accident occurred. The Maguire family owned a General Dealers shop near Ryton School. Robert was a former member of William Cock's Boys Club, situated near the family home. His father was a veteran of World War 1 and continued to be involved in the Home Guard during World War 2 at a local level.
